It will be Laesch v. Irvin on April 1st – Thank you Aurora!
I want to thank the residents of Aurora for sending a strong message to the current administration that we need a government and economy that works for everyone, not just the political insiders, donors and those who seek to buy influence from our elected officials.
I want to thank the other candidates who ran excellent campaigns and brought new ideas to the table. The civility during the League of Women Voters Aurora Area (LWVAA) was exemplary of what a democracy should look like. I appreciate the early endorsement from Jazmin Garcia who worked hard to put us in the runoff election. I also appreciate the symbiotic teamwork between our campaign and Sherry Spears who won her primary for Aurora Township Trustee.
Finally, I need to thank all of the volunteers who stepped up to knock on doors, text friends, talk to their neighbors, dig in, and donate to our campaign. Despite all of the negative attack ads on TV and the internet, we finished in a solid second place because of your hard work. This is what Democracy looks like! We couldn’t have done it without a well-organized campaign manager – thank you Kate Cuneo.
I believe that we will win on April 1st and demonstrate how we can more effectively and efficiently run a city the size of Aurora and do a better job representing the people who live and work here.
But with only 34 days until the next election on April 1st we will need to raise the necessary funds to fend off the negative attack ads that are coming. Can you chip in $25, $50, $100 or more to help us out?

John Laesch is known for his unwavering commitment to populist issues. With a strong focus on social justice, environmental sustainability, and inclusive policies, he seeks to lead Aurora toward a more equitable and forward-thinking future.
